First Year Experience

The goal of the First Year Experience program is to ease the transition for both first year and transfer students as they step onto the college campus. Our mission is to provide a range of services and programs tailored to support this crucial phase of your academic journey. Through personalized introductions to campus resources and support services, we ensure that you have the tools and knowledge to make the most of your college experience.

Our services are readily available whenever you need them, offering a safety net as you navigate the challenges and opportunities that come your way. At Shaw University, the entire community is here to support you as you embark on the path to your future.

The First Year Experience program aims to achieve the following goals:

  • Introducing students to university support services and campus resources.
  • Assisting students in adjusting to and navigating challenges related to various aspects of student life, including intellectual, emotional, and aesthetic components, by providing relevant information.
  • Providing opportunities for students to achieve academic success at Shaw University.
