Major in Divinity, M.Div.

The Master of Divinity degree (M.Div.) prepares students for full-time pastoral ministry and ministerial ordination or licensure. The M.Div. program builds a solid foundation in knowledge of the Bible; understanding of exegesis, hermeneutics, and homiletics; theology; the history of the Christian church and denominations; Christian culture; spiritual and ethical formation; pastoral care; and the philosophy and psychology of preaching. The program empowers students to become visionary and process leaders, facilitating learning and promoting spiritual growth. Students build their capacity to lead individuals, families, and congregations through modeling, nurturing, guiding, and applying Christian beliefs and values in a pastoral role.

Degree Requirements
